The Source Parameters Data Base on CD-ROM

The Source Parameters Data Base (SOPAR) is the second of two data bases contained on the Hypocenter Associated Data CD-ROM. It includes data from January 1977 through March 1989, and contains various fault-plane, seismic moment, and radiated energy solutions for 5671 natural seismic events.
This data base contains the following solutions: NEIC first-motion, NEIC moment tensor, Harvard centroid-moment tensor, NEIC radiated energy, scalar moment from the University of California at Berkley for regional earthquakes, and teleseismic moment from the Laboratoire de Geophysique, Papetti, Tahiti (PPT).

The CD-ROM is produced by the NEIC, USGS. The special software RASP - Retrieval Associated Source Parameters - is retrieval software for the Source Parameters Data Base. It permits selecting events based on combinations of source parameters and hypocenter parameters.
The data were obtained from the World Data Center for Seismology, Denver.
