Hypocenter Associated Data CD-ROM
The International Seismological Centre (ISC) Bulletin is contained
on the Hypocenter Associated Data CD-ROM. This data base is derived from
the ISC Monthly Bulletin print files for January 1964 through August 1987.
The ISC Bulletin represents the most comprehensive world-wide
collection of earthquake data which have been obtained from the analog
recordings of seismographic observatories and from regional or national
networks collecting macroseismic data, and that have been associated with
computed hypocenters.
These data, pertaining to 396661 natural or artificial seismic events,
include the hypocenter and magnitude computations for each event. Observatory
data which have been associated with an event include some some 14 million
seismic phase arrival-times and their computed distances, azimuths and
residuals.
The CD-ROM is produced by the NEIC, USGS. The special software
FAISE - Fetch Associated Information of Seismic Events - is a
menu-driven system. The menus have been designed to provide as much
flexibility as possible to allow the user the ability to customize the search
of the ISC Bulletin Data Base and the output that it produces.
The data were obtained from the World Data Center for Seismology,
Denver.
